This week, the German international satelite channel featured a 5 minutes spot on me in their programme Arts.21. It was quite an honor to be featured parallel to a report on Richard Wagner, and Julius von Bismarck (Yes! he is a descendant the former German Chancellor of the 19th Century) amongst other very innovative German artists.
It was a very spontaneous act, with a visit to my studio, coffe with my husband and eventually a final shooting at the Old Tempelhof Airport, the location of the film “Meine Heimat” which is actually what triggered the whole thing off. The rainy winter decided to spoil the show. Nevertheless, the reportse Jana Shäfer and her team managed to put everything together and it made a good clip.
However while watching it, my joy was daunted as I came upon a journalistic “mishap” which is not quite unusual. While showing “Anna Blume” which I produced and animated, they made the mistake of blending in my name as the Director instead of Vessela Dantcheva. I called their attention to that instantly and was assured that it would be corrected on monday the 12th.
